MEET THE ADVOCACY COACH

Bibi Badejo

Founder of The Advocacy Coach, The Advocacy Members' Club, and The Advocacy Podcast
Bibi Badejo is a practising barrister and an elected Governing Bencher of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. An accomplished advocate, she specialises in children’s public law cases, with expertise in forensic preparation, effective witness handling and complex expert evidence in trials involving serious physical and sexual abuse.

A recognised expert in trial advocacy, Bibi founded bothThe Advocacy Podcast and The Advocacy Coach in 2021. The Advocacy Podcast was launched to help trial lawyers, barristers, and solicitors hone their advocacy skills. As host, Bibi interviews the best lawyers from around the world and they share key insights and practical advice that can be implemented. With listeners in over 150 countries, the podcast has featured esteemed guests such as Allison Summers KC, Roger Dodd, and James Rapley KC and is available as part of the British Airways inflight entertainment.

Drawing on extensive international training from leading experts, Bibi founded The Advocacy Coach to provide advocacy coaching worldwide. Her one-to-one clients hail from England, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and beyond. Additionally, Bibi has created an online advocacy course and delivered live workshops for Bridging the Bar, a charity assisting underrepresented groups in their journey to the Bar. She provided presentations for organisations such as the Scottish Criminal Bar and Vardags, and curated training programmes for prosecutors in Kingston, Jamaica, and Brisbane, Australia. This summer, she'll share her expertise at the prestigious Arbitration Summer Retreat in Hamburg.

Alongside her work with The Advocacy Coach, Bibi is an accredited Advocacy Trainer for Inner Temple (teacher trainer level) and a trainer for the South Eastern Circuit Bar Mess Foundation Advanced International Advocacy Course, also known as the Keble Dutton Advocacy Course. In 2023, she was invited by the Australian Bar Association to join the faculty and train experienced lawyers in a one-week advanced advocacy programme in Sydney, Australia. She has also formed part of the training team for the Sierra Leone Advocacy Training Project, which has involved coaching junior lawyers and training senior lawyers in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to become advocacy trainers themselves.

This unique blend of global exposure, diverse coaching methods, and top-tier training positions Bibi to provide unique and transformative courses for lawyers seeking to elevate their advocacy. Bibi’s coaching focuses on technique, creating courses that transcend practice areas and jurisdictions, transforming hardworking, talented lawyers into exceptional advocates.
